Complete Main Atrium Re-GlazeA large scale, comprehensive glass replacement project covering every panel to the main atrium of Cambridge's premier shopping centre. The atrium comprises a bronze tinted multi barrel vault glazed with curved, toughened units.
The GR3 Commercial Refurbishment Department was responsible for replacement with 10mm bronze polycarbonate, specially tensioned panels to match the appearance of the existing glass but increase performance and durability. The process included the fabrication and supply of gasketry and consumables tailored specifically to this new approach.
As main contractor GR3 Commercial implemented all site management and safety procedures and was responsible for the work of scaffolders, lighting technicians, electricians and waste disposal. It was GR3 Commercial's responsibility to ensure that the centre could continue to trade safely whilst works continued overhead.
Projects of this size are an integral part of GR3 Commercial's Refurbishment work; the ability to identify and fabricate specialist materials to tie in with existing, sometimes dated specifications provides GR3 Commercial with a distinct advantage with projects of this nature.
In addition to the above, GR3 Commercial have an ongoing maintenance contract with The Grafton Centre, regular site visits are made to conduct full Clean and Seal Services and to attend to any glazing works that may be required.
